How do I download and use the free trial?
Downloading and installing DataBak is a straight forward process. Please follow the following steps:
- Click here to register for your free 15 day trial
- Follow the simple instructions on the web site to complete contact details and agree to the End User Licence Agreement. Once the download begins, a window will open asking if you want to save the file. Choose YES and select a place to store the file. Remember this location!
- When the download is complete, you must run the setup program. Close all your open applications and then find the BackupClient.exe program that you saved in the previous step. Then simply double click on its icon.
- Once the setup program has finished running, it will ask if you want to run the program. Select YES to run DataBak for the first time. This will start the Setup wizard.
- Fill out the various forms that the setup wizard supplies. Once you have completed these steps, the Backup Client will be installed and running.

Do I need to enter credit card information when downloading the free trial?
No, the free trial does not require you to enter credit card information. The account setup form does ask for contact information. This information is kept strictly confidential and is not sold or released to any third party. It is used if we need to contact you regarding your backup service.

Is the free trial version the same as what I would purchase?
Yes. The free trial is identical to the program you would purchase except that it is limited to one computer and 1GB of storage space in our Data Centres which should give you sufficient indication of how the software works.
Once you have established that our service meets your requirements you can Sign-up for the full service which does not have these restrictions.

Connecting via dialup via AOL, CompuServe, and similar ISP connections
If you will be connecting to us via ISP's who provide their own dialler instead of using the standard Windows dialler, it will be necessary to open your Internet connection before running our software. You will not be able to use scheduled backups that run automatically, but all other features are unaffected.
